Placenta Encapsulation
Your placenta delivers nutrients to the growing fetus, provides a barrier and protection, and retains many of the same nutrients following delivery.
The possible benefits of placenta encapsulation include: a decrease in postpartum mood disorders, increased production of oxytocin, a decrease in stress hormones, restoration of iron levels following bleeding after birth, and increased milk supply.

Who should not encapsulate their placenta? Anyone that has had a blood-borne virus such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or HIV, or have had their placenta sent out of the delivery room for lab testing. Placenta capsules are not to replace any prescribed vitamin regimen. However, women have reported increased energy when taken as prenatal supplements.
